Take Me Back
Take my heart back in time,
Before fear tried to creep inside,
Before cautiousness could ever get its way,
Before the deception could be seen everyday,
When love was simple and always there,
And there was no reason to have any fear....

Afraid of Feeling Safe
I am afraid...
Not of him,
But of myself,
For feeling safe
Engulfed in the haze
Of his kisses,
Enfolded in the warmth
Of his embrace...
I am afraid of feeling safe
Like its dangerous
To feel anything but
Cautiousness
When balanced
On the slim tightrope
Of the highest tree branch
Under the assault
Of strong wind-
I am too giddy
On the thirty-feet high

Kiss of Kissings Instructions
Is a kiss still a kiss when
In the air and ever care
Where it lands blown by one who
Loathes missing
Blowing kisses more kissings
Contort your brow purse your lips
Come forward plant the kiss so
As not to worry whether
You'll miss, feel the pleasure of
Good measure stay and persist
A kiss of a kiss of cautiousness!
Have patience...... My gracious flow
Into it!...

For the fear of imprisonment
We obey the constitution of the moment
For the fear of fall or failure
We trod with precautions in our journey into the future...

Baby Steps
Today I had an ice cream cone -
In 14 months, my first
And stepped inside a supermarket -
Cautiousness reversed.
We drove up to our country place,
Last visited last summer,
And stopped to see some friends outside.
(Not vaccinated - bummer!)
So masks were on and off, but still
Some progress has been made.
I hope someday there’ll come a time
When I am not afraid.
I’ll keep on taking baby steps
And know I’m not alone,
But soon enough I plan to have
Another ice cream cone!...
