Mir Poems

Oy vey iz mir, one day in the life of a common house broken schmeckle

Oy vey iz mir, one day in the life of a common house broken schmeckle...,

who did pötschke
and squander many an opportunity
to become a mensch
instead he became persona non grata
condemned to a history of misery,
not unlike Doctor Hyde and Mister Jekyll,
where friends, Romans countrymen did heckle.

After all said and done,

Mir Taqi Mir Translations

Couplets
by Mir Taqi Mir
loose translations by Michael R. Burch

Sharpen the barbs of every thorn, O lunatic desert!
Perhaps another hobbler, limping by on blistered feet, follows me!
?Mir Taqi Mir, loose translation by Michael R. Burch

My life is a bubble,
this world an illusion.

I still think of you
And still want you here.

I messed up and I hurt you
I don't want to do it again.
I try to forget about us
And what we had just began.

I let myself hurt you.
I killed our relationship.
I let selfishness come over me.
I didn't know
