Just High

I long for the days of my teenage years. Me, Debbie, Nancy, and my best friend Shellie and those slumber parties when we did everything BUT slumber! Laughing, snacking, playing our records, and talking - always talking about guys! We were not wild girls who drank or did pot, and I don't recall who thought of it, but one night, very late, we staggered - arm in arm - down streets, loudly pretending to be drunk while slurring our speech and guffawing! Four friends JUST HIGH on YOUTH! Feb. 7, 2017 for Frank Herrera's LETTING YOUR HAIR DOWN Contest

Innocent drunks, that's hilarious. Gosh, I only wish it wasn't the real thing for me. I can't help but be jealous of this sweet memory. I hope all your friends grew up as sweet as you.

I had similar slumber parties (we smoked pretzels) so I had a good time while reading and relating. Worthy of a win and, yes, it came in! Congrats and love ... CayCay

"High on Youth" - nice phrase. Are you familiar with Omar Khayam's Rubiayat where he wrote "O come with Khayam and leave the wise to talk. One thing is certain and the rest is lies The flower that once was born forever dies". Time is fleeting! Peace & Love Matthew Anish

You were such a "bad" girl. Andrea. I'll bet you never said a curse word until after you were married. Am I right? Great memories:)

you are almost right. I said very mild swear words before getting married, but now I will say any of them if I want to (just not in certain company!!)

Great memories: was that the night you went over to where you were suppose to be babysitting and scared me to death by everyone scratching on the window screens and knocking on the doors. Wasn't funny at the time but I find it funny now.

Youth? Ahhh, that long ago land where we owned time and thought we would play forever. Well pictured, Andrea. // Barry

I can just picture it too! Haha! Youth is a great buzz, pity it's wasted on the youth! Good luck, Andrea!

This is so sweet Andrea. I do think kids have the most fun just being silly with their friends. I am finally doing better from my cold Andrea. So nice to read your poetry again. Cheers, Connie ; ) 7
