Vacationing On Earth - a report from an orb

My name is Cosmic Orb, (Not to be confused with The Great Cosmic Mushroom or God.) I am responsible for the tiny sectors of the 26 galaxies neighboring the Milky Way, as it pertains to cataloging the historical record in those realms.

This report will be brief as time is of the essence. Twenty five years ago in the Age of Man on the third planet from the local sun called Earth when it came to an end for them as I remember. It was at 5:15 pm eastern local time in June, in the year 3745 in that particular minuscule spec, a place called America, where the first asteroid struck.

Three billion years ago prior to the catastrophic event on Earth, in the outer reaches of the solar system, in the Oort Cloud region, where a series of large rocks collided with one another somewhat randomly, something like billiard balls dispersing with great velocity into one another in a scattered projection inward towards their setting sun and that is where it all began. Hundreds of the space debris, large and small, embarked on their long journey, headed towards the sealing of Earth's fate.

Jupiter ate up some of the asteroids and comets after the lengthy trip. Mars was next. The ones that struck it left the planet cracked but still intact. Only the smaller objects had impacted. Earth was struck with giant boulders the size of small cities and buses. There were 10 in all, more than enough to split the planet into fragments.

Decades before this event I personally visited the strange world out of curiosity with pen and paper and my favorite camera. I even took the Pepsi and Coke challenge for fun and entertainment when I landed. They both taste the same to me. Well, maybe I exaggerate. Pepsi tasted a little sweeter but less refreshing. It is the only thing worth writing down about the journey and their history.

I still keep a picture of the two bottles in the cosmic scrapbook for fond memories. I keep a picture of Earth in its marbled blue and beauty in my left pocket and a picture of Mars and Saturn in a box with the other small objects for nostalgic reasons.

Do not confuse me with God. I am a simple functionary orb, one of over three thousand in the universes, alternate and otherwise, who write about history in the infinite celestial mist. We simply do His bidding. It is not a religion. It is simply doing business of the cosmic kind.

If I had a head I could remember more. As it stands I have to keep it brief and simple for obvious reasons. Coke and Pepsi are all that I remember from my trip to Earth while vacationing in that district recently. These two products may not have been healthy or nutritious for their species to consume or even all that delicious but either were the asteroids or comets that caused their inevitable extinction and demise of their small world...Those were happy times. I'm so happy I remembered to bring a pen and paper and my trusty camera.
