Thorn in my side

"I just want to be normal," he stammered as he lay sprawled with his face down in the uncut grass.

It seemed like it was something he was repeating over and over lately. He was totally confused but he completely understood. In all and every way, he knew that God was involved. After all, he was on his knees, not by choice, and his body was soaked in places where he had fallen. You might call it a baptism of fire; that was how Aiden Simms was feeling as his body was riddled with pain. One thing he was grateful for was that he did not hurt himself so badly that he had to be hospitalised. He recalled that he heard the sound of his head bashing into brick as he blacked out.
Aiden bent over crudely calling out to no one in particular but calling out to God; he was afraid that God would not take kindly to any inclination towards any demands he might make. The middle aged man tried to force himself to cry but the tears just wouldn't come. Perhaps, he felt it was the hand that he was dealt. You could say as he keeled over, someone was rubbing his nose in it!
