The Happy ever after

And they lived happily ever after. The end.

Ok, I’m going to tell you guys what happened after everything ended. You think I’m going to leave you hanging like a cat on a fence line? Give me some credit here. I might be the most wanted person in the United States but I still have some kind of heart.

By the way, it’s Ceillia Swan writing this for my friend Freya only because she is too busy being married. Ew..

First things first, let’s start with Theodora and her great escape to the free states. The night she left was probably the hardest thing she had to do. It took her almost three months to get to the free state that Mr. Brookes was in. I guess traveling the railroad is a lot more stressful than one may think. As she told me, it was a close call a couple times but now she has her family back as a whole. I visit her from time to time to get some baked goods from the bakery they own. Eric and Emma have grown so much since I have seen them last.

Second is Mr. James or should I say Freya’s father. He had his late wife and sons moved to the city graveyard to be able to sell the house. He is now closer to his family up north. They got him some doctors that watch his heart for him. But so far the old man is being stubborn about the rest of his health. It just shows you that you can’t get a man to do anything that might be worth something in the long run. Last time I checked in with him; well let’s just say I now know where Brandon learned to play cards well as he did. And I didn’t let him win. (Ok maybe a couple times. But the man is like a second father to me.) I still sneak him some cigars from time to time when I think his daughter isn’t looking. Got to stay on his good side somehow. He is hoping one day Freya is going to tell him that he will be a pawpaw sooner than later. (Yes you read that right, I still use my southern way of talking every so often. Especially when I’m trying to charm someone at the card tables.)

Next on the list is Ayden James or should I say Dr. James? Yes he actually did go to medical school in Alabama. He was planning to help on the front lines as a doctor as soon as he got his degree but then… well in about seven months he’ll be a father to a child. And no, he didn’t get married first. Let’s just say for being uptight and responsible maybe very smart he did something stupid and drunk. Before you ask, no it's not me. ( He isn’t my type. A little too tightly wound for me. No sense of adventure whatsoever.) It seems that Nick girl played him with enough spirits to get him to have fun for once in his life. I for one, can’t wait to see Mr. don’t litter deal with a child. I would pay to see that as a show. Truth be told, I’m proud of him because now he is becoming a real person and not just a stick in the mud plus you know becoming a doctor. Just don’t tell him I said that, I don't need to upset the dynamic of things. He might think I actually like him otherwise.

Now his cousin and her family. Freya and Johnny boy are still going strong. You would think the star crossed war torn couple wouldn’t make it this long but here they are. Still stupid in love with each other. Blah but hey at least she is happy so I guess I’m happy for her. When I visit, that little sister of Johnothan’s tries to hang out with me to learn about my travels. Last time I saw her it was going well until I told her about the voodoo witches of New Orleans. Guess that didn’t go over well with that grandmother of theirs. Who knew kids could be so sensitive about that stuff?

After Johnothan and Freya got to the North he was done with the army and went to college for something I don’t know to be honest; it bored me so much. For all I know he could be a bookkeeper as long as he takes care of Freya and doesn't hurt her. She is spunky as ever and still acts like a wild child while we spend time together. The only complaint she has made is that Wisconsin is so cold you could lose body parts while going to the market for bread.

On my travels I did go into the mountains of West Virginia and got some news on Lavender Rose. It seems she has been released to her family. They didn’t know what happened to her for a long time. It seems that no one informed them that she was locked away. (They thought worse things in their mind about what happened to her in the time she was gone.) It seems she is doing better now and is planning to move as far away as she could from the place she was hurt. Maybe she might head overseas to get a fresh start of things and learn a thing or two about the world around her. It would do her a world of good, I’m sure of it.

Now onto the real street rat the man (or so he claims to be) Mitchell Myers. It seems that he lost the leg he had blood clots in. It caused him to have nerve damage in that leg so off it went. When the courts got a big fat gift on their doorstep, (A copy of his file. I won’t tell you what I had to do to get an extra copy of that.) They found that pile of pig guts trying to hide in a vault in his father’s bank. Then the two Myers men tried to pay them off. Needless to say, it didn’t work for them. They are both now serving time in the state prison for a whole list of things they both did. West Virginia is a bit more safer at least from that lot. I wonder what Mrs. Myers is like. I bet she is a piece of work or just one of those see no evil types.

Last but not least, an update about myself. Well It seems that I was kicked out of more states then we have at the moment. While walking around the city looking at the shops to see where I can buy a decent breakfast; I saw a child on the street trying to get money. I quickly flashed back to when I was that age. I found a shop for my breakfast and ordered a sweet roll for the child and something hot for her to drink. When I gave her the stuff to eat I tried to not look at her face in fear of seeing myself in her face. Fast forward some and now well now I have an adopted daughter. She travels with me and I have been trying to be a better person, not play so many card tables if I can help it. Nowadays I’ve been busy writing this book about my travels and trying to make sure my daughter Abigail has a better life than I did. And if you are wondering, I did reconnect with my mother telling her all she had missed out on.

Now I can say it. The end everyone has a happily ever after. Just don’t get it in your head that everyone gets that. We were just very lucky in our lives and just played the cards we were dealt. Until the next game of cards. I’ll see you all around just maybe I’ll have more tales to tell. Just make sure you have a four leaf clover drink on hand.
