Scuba

I was scuba diving in the Bahamas with a bunch of tourists and two expert divers, thoroughly enjoying the moment, until we approached a sunken boat that showed signs of a recent accident and then I was shocked beyond description when I saw my own corpse floating inside it, half eaten by the sea's creatures. No, that can't be me, I assured myself, not trusting my own eyes glaring at the corpse. But, there was no escaping the fact that it was me and none other. Trembling in fear, I turned around to alert the other divers and saw no one around -- all vanished. I couldn't believe it. How was it possible, they were swimming next to me a minute ago and now all of a sudden gone? What happened to them, I asked myself, but a voice in my head asked another, more ominous, question: What happened to you?
To me?! Nothing. I am sure nothing happened to me.

In that case, who is that, if not you? The same voice asked. I didn't bother asking who are you and, instead, looked back at the corpse and saw that is eyes were now wide open staring at me, glued to my eyes, until I lost any sense of distance between us, merging with the corpse and seeing things from its vantage. That's when it dawned on me that I was dead and had a dead man's nightmare.
