Profit Able Conversation

Dark skies were on the horizon as Hal gripped the railing on the bridge observing the Gulf stream flow in a fast but firm pace underneath the town landmark.

“Everything okay?” Dale inquired about the situation developing on the ‘Lucky Seven’ Bridge

“Yeah,” Hal answered, “but it’s Farley and the place he was claiming to own.”

“I always thought Farley was a winning benefactor and would have no problem obtaining ownership deeds.”

“Well,” Hal started to confess, “after we staged the Poppa Honor show they explained to Farley his infamous ‘Parlor’ legend was out of the money.”

“Totally broke?” Dale was stunned, “didn’t he have an Allowance with an optional claiming clause? In his arsenal?”

“Yes, but over four years it is not valid,” Dale explained stepping away from the situation, “apparently he received an offer from a stage company and now they broadcast the Henry World Show.”

“What did Farley do?”

“Within a second Farley was off to Grainger County.”

“Oh, Grainger where everyone says, Hay,” Dale replied.

“He asked me for a loan the other day,” Hal continued to talk, “to set up a Ghostline and be a winner again.”

“And?”

“I gave him a few bucks knowing the money will just disappear.”

Watching Hal enter the late-night air something had to be done quickly, “Hal, let’s get a Mai Tai,”

Turning around his friend smiled, “would love to Maity one on but I am out of the money.”

“It’s on me,” Dale offered, and was accepted.

Not even an hour passed at the bar and Dale picked up the business section and on the front page there was a photograph of Grainger County next to a product named ‘Ghostline.’ Above the headline banner read:

“Local Invention Has Nice Weekly Profit.”

Showing the information to Hal, Dale made the comment, “you do have enough to buy the Mai Tais tonight.”
