Do you remember. A story of convience

30 March 2019 12:14 PM
Do you remember stationary telephones that when a friend called it was a chance to sit down rest, relax and laugh and think. Do you remember when you had to physicaly search and find and read books to find the information that you needed? It was a chance to exercise what you had learned and to learn more by reading and researching. Do you remember when you planted your own gardens and took care of your own apple trees? It was a time of exercise for your body and to reap the rewards of your labor and to taste the real success of a good harvest. Do you remember going to visit a neighbor or relative or friend. Sitting on the porch sipping tea or in the kitchen sipping coffee and discussing what was going on in your life without others chimming in and laughing at you and putting you down? Ideas were exchange things were learned emotions were released and smiles were painted onto your memories. Do you remember how slow sundays used to be? Breakfast at the table wash up and get dressed and go to church. After church lunch at the grandparents home or out with friends. And meeting again in the evening to pray and thank God for the day and then home to rest with the peace of Christ in your heart. Waking refreshed on monday morning to start your week with last weeks troubles behind you instead of burdening your mind.
Do you remember as an adult or as a child? Do you remember how you lived instead of just existed for another day? Do you really remember?
