Alarmed Pt. 4

It’s now 7:43, and the Sun has only now begun setting into the distance. The smoke from the crackling fire waved around in all kinds of shapes in the sky. It blends beautifully in with the wispy, pink clouds high up. I scanned Tao up and down as he shoved another marshmallow into his mouth to… impress someone? But let’s be honest, him throwing up at the end of the night won’t be attractive to anyone.

‘Stop, Phoebe! It’s not funny!’ one of the girls screeched, while she chuckled like a kookaburra. It is so funny to see people hanging out together and have a blast. Especially, Phoebe and Ruby after their argument.

‘We have to take a group photo.’ Ruby declared. ‘So stop chasing me!’

‘Ok, ok.’ Phoebe said, giggling to herself a little bit. ‘Get over here, guys.’ We have to take a photo all together. You too, Tori!’

Tori gave a grunt but gave into the idea.

‘I have a phone we can use. I’ll send it to you all afterwards.’

‘Thanks, Montana.’ Ruby gave a great grin with glee.

I know I said I never liked Ben or Austin, but gosh I hate Montana’s guts! She is just so rude, greedy, and always so passive-aggressive. Nobody knows what she’s thinking, and it is so annoying when she just-

‘We’re taking the photo. Get over here. Girl.’ Of course, Montana gave her famous smirk after she had to announce the obvious. And of course, it has to be passive-aggressive towards anyone. Montana demanded a ‘Smile!’, as she demonstrated one herself. Though before the photo could be taken, the sky suddenly went dark with large, somber clouds covering the whole base of the sky. The enormous light source from the bonfire was extinguished.

There were deafening shrieks coming from the direction behind the group, until they we’re cut out. Silence had approached us. As we all twisted around, every parent who was in front of the bonfire had disappeared. We started belting out some deafening shrieks of our own. As I tilted my head further up until the top of the bonfire pile, I opened my eyes wide to see a digital clock, with numbers coloured in a deep, blood red.
