A Break in Covid?

How is it possible to be in this beautiful park on a gorgeous day and it be almost void of people?

I realize now what COVID has created. Fear. Fear has kept we human from getting together and actually having a little fun. How very sad.

The town has put an amazing Splash pad in for young ones. At least there are three little ones enjoying the gushing water as it pours over them. They, at least are laughing as they look up, waiting for that Tomato to spurt once more.

The lake is within sight of the park. Few venture into the water as waves rush toward the sandy beach. Looks like a beach volleyball game will soon start. A couple of scantily dressed girls erect the net. An old man and a feeble-looking lady sit under a shade tree apparently enjoying the rush of the waves and the seagulls they are feeding. A grandstand sits empty. Its hollowness echos the occasional gust of wind.

As I sit in my car looking out at this beautiful park on this hill just above the lake I wonder, "Is this the big break in COVID, are we all too afraid to live a life again?"
