Introduction
|
I am KJ, new to Poetry Soup. I have been writing poetry since I was a child - about 6 decades now. I retired as an Interpreter for the Deaf several years ago, and have been writing more and more. I also write essays and short stories.

cliches
|
I just looked at the list of cliches. My writing group has had a lot of fun trying to use cliches in new ways. What I'm asking about here, is about 'fair dinkum'. Since I live 'up over', I rarely come across this expression. Looked it up. OK, good. But what rhymes with 'fair dinkum'? ' Lair stinkum'? like in a funky cave? The critters leave old bones and such around? They practice poor hygiene? Or would it be a pub crawling challenge? 'dare drink 'em'. I'd like to see this cliche in a poem.
Thanks.
