Polar bears should be free to roam
So lets not contaminate their home
Plastic has become a curse
Things can only get worse
Its time to leave well enough alone.

Case closed: an unbearable cheat
But all’s just too tidy and neat.
The seals are all basking,
And nobody’s asking,
Why those tracks favor penguin’s feet

In London we used to have snow
But that was many many years ago
Now winters are warm
With just the odd storm
As for summer anything goes.

Those penguins, they timed it just right
They got the old bear at first light
With rolls of that plastic
Like cling wrap, elastic
They got him with nary a fight

Those penguins had better take care
Its so dangerous to upset a bear
If they don't watch their back
They'll finish up as a snack
Either fried, boiled, saute or rare.

The penguins did not get off scot-free
To their horror when fishing for tea
The bear crept up behind
And stole their fishing lines
Then consumed all their fish greedily.

The gauntlet had surely been thrown
Those fish were a loss to bemoan
But they found a seal kill
Laced it with benadryl
And dug in for a prank of their own!

Although it was their favorite dish
The seals sensed something was amiss
The polar bear
Made them aware
When he removed them from his list.

Arctic ice was starting to melt
As they all were fishing for smelt
Might be our last meal
Bear said, "No big deal...
If I lose weight, I'll look more svelte."

When he saw that carcass of seal,
There went all of his dieting zeal
When the benadryl hit,
Lights went out, that was it.
Cue the penguins, in a snowmobile

No choice now but to hibernate
Bear was now a month too late
Asleep on Benadryl
The penguins ate their fill
Their hungry appetites to sate

As the penguins raced across the snow
They had to take things slow
For it was not ideal
After taking Benadryl
But still they put on quite a show.

An eskimo watched from afar
The scene that unfolded: bizarre
He finished his stew
Crawled in his igloo
And threw away all his cigars

Suddenly, he heard a rumbling
From his igloo, he came stumbling
He ran at a fast pace
Panic etched on his face
An iceberg calved and was tumbling

Well, that set off tsunami alarms;
The school kids cried out to their marms
But penguins are tough
So they all yelled “Surf’s up!”
And high-fived sans fingers or arms.

Tsunami waves crashed overhead
Then came the moment each one dread
Penguins were all counted
Death had been surmounted
None were lost, not even one head.

Those penguins were enjoying their day
As they surf boarded across the waves
Some thought they were barmy
To ride in a tsunami
But fortune always favours the brave.

[ the narrator interjects here;
the gallery deserves a cheer!
the quality, great;
they’re fun, they relate.
Delighted that y’all joned me here! ]

Well, while they were taking their bows
Old polar bear started to rouse
Now free from the drug
That white hairy rug
Was now danger, prowling the house

The penguins were not really alarmed
Thinking the bear would do them no harm
They were unaware
That a grumpy old bear
Cannot be won over with charm.
