Please Try to Understand...

With this benediction the Lord has filled my heart:

Don’t become complacent while those in power leverage false mastery
For the benefit of the lavish, and causing famine for multitudes

By looking at the picture, I fear we've missed something
From birth, leagues of forebears and many brethren
Have been legally forced to mean less in our society
Based on little more than a few drops of melanin

Yes, Barack Obama was a black man living in a forever white mansion
But tell that to Breonna Taylor, Charleena Lyles, George Floyd and Trayvon Martin
Between them there was little in common, but the hue of their faces... and their mortality

Meanwhile Jeff Bezos, Leonard Lauder, Thomas Frist and Elon Musk
Are billionaires living on the first one hundred most wealthy list
And are there any brothers or sisters listed among those hundred financial mercenaries?
...

But for the life of me I can't fault the men and women on that list
Their wealth is based on a history of lies about the fairer-skinned man
That he's blessed by the Lord is ways that his faulty relatives miss
That he's better than the lowly dark-skinned fathers and mothers
That separate but "equal" spaces that divide us can still lead to fair moments of opportunity

How can educated people believe that the least funded schools can provide matching benefits?
That pigment can broadly label folks as "more" or "less" valuable?
That by his hand, the Lord created some free and others to be mastered?
But these lies have laid the foundation for our missteps today

Basically, today's laws and POLICIES have formed anti-equality in our cities and in our minds
These bad policies are a legislative result of financial GREED and manipulation
... Back up; maybe this is the legitimate fault of those who want millions and POWER

Because the lust for power will always leave a trail of Floyds and Martins

Buckle up and follow closely: the lust for POWER will forever involve needing more than others
More business, more leverage, more fortune... more exploitation
This GREED, by nature, levies a state of anti-fairness against the poorest fathers, mothers and children
And this anti-fairness is justified by legal POLICIES that foster the mistreatment of human beings

These broken policies are given legitimacy because of flagrantly RACIST ideas and mentalities

Historically blatant lies and lust for power blend to create today's frightening mess
Where blacks are less likely than whites to graduate from college, but more likely to go to prison
Where basic freedoms like the right to a fair trial are mangled and murdered
Where brutish white torchbearers line fortified streets and ludicrously mutter “white power”
Where broods of children have lived fearfully because their father or mother had to give the “Black talk”
Where buying skittles and sweet tea can leave a black Florida teen killed in self-defense murdered
Where big business leverages power to force policies that mandate the perpetuation of poverty
Where bigots propagate lies and fascists contemplate mutilation

But change has launched into this festering malicious landscape

Bellowing Loudly And Counterintuitively Kneeling
Leveraging Intermittent Violence,* Engaging Society
Freedom Ultimately Coming, Killing Injustice, Non-equality, Greed
Multitudes All Together Telling, Erupting, Roaring…

FREEDOM!

*If you condemn this violence you must also condemn the American colonists who violently rose up Because they were treated unjustly by the British. The British wanted to Legally use and control the colonies for their own selfish Financial gains. Don't think for a second that this MATTER is any different.

**There is a four-word statement woven into each line of this piece. Don't be offended and please try to understand...
