Contest Description

What to Submit?

1 original poem on the theme of Nature in disguise. The poem must be related to nature but the deeper meaning means somethings else. What I'm asking is that you write a poem about nature (ie. birds, ocean, coral reefs... anything that is natural) to metaphorically mean something else. My storm poem is once again an example, but I am currently working on another example (will be put on here when finished) since the storm is already used as an example for my last contest.

IMPORTANT:

1. Poems need to be at least 3 lines long (haiku accepted, but to my experience, it is not an easy thing to write an extended metaphorical haiku poem)

2. All forms accepted

3. No inappropriate contents.

4. Judging will be based on the usage of language techniques and literary devices.

5. Like my previous contest, I would again ask to include a writer's statement (if possible, not compulsary).

Prizes:

First Prize, Glory
Second Prize, Glory
Third Prize, Glory
Seven Honorable Mentions

Preparing Your Entry

Submit one copy of your poem online. Format your poem. Please make your entry easy to read — no illustrations or fancy fonts. Mess up your commonly used symbols (Such as when you usually write dates like 19/01/17, write them like this 19-01-17 to remain completely anonymous). And don't write your name!!

English Language

Poems should be in English. Poems translated from other languages are not eligible, unless you wrote both the original poem and the translation.

A Note to Poetry Contestants

Like all of my previous contests, judging will begin as soon as number of entries reach the limit, so always keep an eye on that is you might come across changing your entry. All are welcome to enter this contest, whether or not you won a prize in one of my previous contests, and may the force be with you!
