As usual with my premiere contests any theme/form 1 to a max of 14 lines.No name on your entry

My sole criteria is how your poem reads aloud

Thank you one and all for supporting my contests with your talent .My congtats to the 150 poets who have achieved at least one or more top ten placings in the 43 contrsts so far.

If you have not yet achieved the coveted PS permanent gold trophy with your poem in my contests you are always welcome to re submit even if I have previously giving it a top ten placing .The same applies if you have not yet received a top ten placing as in each contest there are always four or five that just miss out so resubmission is always welcome

Hi Brian. This is very interesting to me - is oral recitation "the apex of our art form"? I suspect the answer will vary on an individual basis, as we are either "eye-minded" or "ear-minded" to varying degrees. That was one theory, anyway, when I was in school, quite a few decades ago. Personally, I can be blown away by the printed page, and my gut feeling is that a given poem, when read aloud, can approach that same high level, but not surpass it. Not that I even get it right, the first time I read a poem - it may take several tries. Perhaps I need to first hear a poem in the spoken voice, rather than see it in print and always draw comparisons there. Cheers, Doug.

Thanks for your comments Doug.This reply box is too small for detailed observations .Suffice perhaps to say that history shows that one does not need to be able to read to appreciate our poetic artform.Best wishes with your creative endeavours.
