just a few thoughts on what pleases me,... in poetry

As most folk here are aware my premiere sponsored contests are judged on how the entered poem reads aloud irrespective of form or theme.
To help clarify my take on this I felt it might be helpful to elaborate a little on my perspective:
1.My opinion of a poem will clearly be subjective ,some themes will appeal some will not
2.The first thing to remember is that I ignore the form that has been used.As I believe poetry is merely ' structured prose' .
3.I then read the poem aloud as if I had an audience as I also believe this to be a unique 'as is moment' between the poet and the listener.
4.One breath length is thus obviously a key factor.
5.I follow the punctuation if the poem is punctuated.
6.The premiere contests allows just 10 placing out of 35 entries, thus oftimes there are 4 or 5 or more near misses
7.I have no problem with a re submission of a poem that has not previously placed or with very short poems .
To give an sample here is an example of a footle of mine that I would place
FREE VERSE
no stress
I guess
and below an example of a poem I wrote after my beloved Marianne Moore's style of very free verse
POETIC WALK WITH MARIANNE MOORE
Come read and let my voice
take you along a
syntactical line
Better yet
if well met
listen, make
this a unique
‘as is moment’
‘twixt you & I
Line indentation
underlines the parallels
of my verse
The shape
my syllabic disposition,
the stanza
my unit of sense

Whatever the form you choose ,whatever the theme and whenever you wrote it thank you for your continuing support.Your poetry helps to make my day. There are many talented poets here on PS ( over 45 have already placed at least once in just 11 contests so far.)
