the Mighty Pen

Every day we come to speak with one another.........why?

Each one has his or her own reasons.One poet is very young and feels that nobody cares.He throws out a heartline just to test the waters.

Maybe Carol takes the time to encourage his efforts and he is reassured that it's ok to open up his thoughts to us.

Some of us love the interaction between kindred spirits.Whatever the reasons we come here,we get to know each other and feel a bond,

a comaraderie that is special to many of us.Since the pen IS mightier than the sword we must be careful how we wield said pen.

We can come to care so much across this faceless void that we can be hurt by callous words.If we lose the stones from our Stone soup

we will have nothing with which to begin a new pot.We have to shield the tender hearted while we tilt at all the windmills in our way.

so right! the pen is million times mightier...i should know that cause i have worked for a newspaper a long time ago and words can make or break even the most powerful of men..and poetry can touch and soften the hardest of hearts...i love the soup and i am glad it is here for those like me who loves poetry and have searched the whole world wide web for a true poetry site...this is home..thanks to you jonji for the inspiration that you give to writers-john e

Our hearts led us here dear friend. We write from the heart we speak from the heart. We all are full of love here some just don't see the love there is and you have to show them the way. Show them that there is someone who cares. That there is more in this world then hate.And if they have a good write we have to make sure we tell them so.

You are right Jonji about this mighty pen.. and by the way, you did great with the translation of my poem. You’re a great poet/writer and I do love your writings. I was inspired to write in French, by my niece, she’s a young poet, but unfortunately, most of her writings are in French. So, I encourage her to learn the English language, that way she can write poetry in English and post her works here @Poetrysoup. Actually, English is not our mother tongue and I’m still trying to master it.
