Game of Chance
Looking for misfortunes end,
Waiting for things that patience is said to send,
Hoping and dreaming,
For your luck to change.
You roll the dice once again,
Praying for that which you seek to gain,
The adrenaline rushing through your veins,
The anxiety you can take no more of.
Waiting to make your final call,
Believing that now is your time to win,
Only to find that you have lost it all,
Lost it all to a game of chance.
Looking for misfortunes end,
Waiting for things that patience is said to send,
Hoping and dreaming,
For your luck to change.
Again and again,
You find yourself caged within,
The monster that has held you captive,
Game after game.
You make a silent vow,
That this game shall be your last,
You promise to win it all back,
You can be free from it all now.
Looking for misfortunes end,
Waiting for things that patience is said to send,
Hoping and dreaming,
For your luck to change.
Only to lose one more hand,
To an addiction,
That you did not beat,
This time.
Your promise is always the same,
“Just one more game,
then I swear I’m through”
But that one more game you’re destined lose.
Looking for misfortunes end,
Waiting for things that patience is said to send,
Hoping and dreaming,
For your luck to change.
