What a Time To Be Alive

It breaks by heart.
It breaks my heart to see the world come to a pause.

Everyone trapped indoors,
afraid to go outside.
Everyone trapped indoors,
afraid to touch, afraid to breath.
Afraid to kiss, afraid to hug.
Afraid to be black, afraid to be white, afraid to be Asian.
Afraid to be a man, afraid to be a woman, afraid to be neither.
Afraid to be gay, afraid to be trans.

Everyone is afraid from everything.
Afraid to be seen and heard,
afraid to be JUDGE.

Trapped indoors we are afraid to live.
Trapped indoors we are afraid to die.
How sad it is! How sad truly is it.
I am left with no words or comments.

We are locked inside while fear is eating our souls.
If Covid doesn't kill us, maybe fear will.
What a time to be alive!

WELCOME to the generation of fear.

It is very difficult to see all these changes and what is happening to people. Well done :)

Yes, you are so right... I'm regarded as a vulnerable person, but i do not live in fear... Great poem.
