Eclipse

Eclipse
As two celestial bodies drift through space with each one on a path their very own; with one so near to show her lovely face; the other far away yet brightly shown. And as they wander down their cosmic trails, it’s seldom that their random paths converge. Yet now and then the fates will share their tales; paths cross and heaven’s bodies seem to merge. For one brief moment in their ageless lives, this cosmic duo seemingly ‘come one, and when the magic milestone does arrive, they cast their shadowed spells on everyone. And in this single moment etched in time, this cosmic couple share a perfect rhyme.

Beautifully written! “And in this single moment etched in time, this cosmic couple share a perfect rhyme.” As I am going through a breakup this one really got me. Very touching.

' For one brief moment, this cosmic duo ‘come one. ' Such a breathtaking connection, indeed. I was in complete awe yesterday while experiencing the Solar Eclipse. Your words take me to the moment when, ' this cosmic couple share a perfect rhyme. ' This is beautiful in every way. My best to you, my dear sweet friend. :) Hugs, Brandy

a captivating Sonnet, John. Here in North Texas we experienced totality for 3.5 minutes...it was captivating as was your poem. You captured the essence of those moments when the duo became one. As you stated, it was the perfect rhyme. We had a watch party here in our neighborhood. At the moment when totality occurred, first everyone cheered...then suddenly, like the birds, we all became quiet, totally in awe. Anyway, enjoyed your poem. A fave. enjoy your evening, sara

A beautiful sonnet John, articulated with precision and metaphor, I often wonder if the solar eclipse is more than mere cosmological coincidence, perhaps the answer is in that magic spell you describe, top poem, cheers David
