Troubadour Heart

Troubadour Heart

Your troubadour heart
diamond embers sows
through cloudlike
patches of blue gently

strumming wreathes
of feathered accords
and when sadness rears
its grieving head

your strings weaving
invisible threads
a simple melody lace
and a thousand

lifting notes rise
tied in a flow of
caressing waves
calling me back

from a dark and grave
soul stealing place
and I now bathe

in the dreams of tomorrow
as your troubadour heart
carries mine away . . .

Wonderful write! Come back, Anne-Marie. You are missed on Poetry Soup (PS). PS is not perfect, and people play games everywhere ... even during COVID 19 pandemic. But Jesus loved people, knowing what we are ... Your presence is needed NOW. Even your words say as much: "lifting notes rise tied in a flow of caressing waves calling me back". shalom shalOM. DEO

The poem made me think of a handsome troubadour - walking and singing in a troubadour suit of brown and blue - with a woman sitting in a window - she's sad because she has fallen in love with him - and he is on his way to the next town

Annie-Marie, this sounds as if it were written for a singer/song writer that you know or admire. It's beautifully written, really love the last stanza.

Powerful use of imagery here, Anne-Marie... Nothing quite draws me to a poem like the pull of fine imagery.

Wow, this was beautiful and so melodically enchanting. The story just swept me away, but music often does that. I love how this is written too, it is such a pleasing read that touches the soul of a musician. Really nice my friend.
