Unlocking Secrets

I wish you could look at someone,
and
in just the tilt of your head
when you look at them
or the wrinkle of your face
when they make you smile,
that overlooked little gesture could
have the power
to unlock all the secrets of your life.

Like a silent movie,
your past,
the pain you have dealt with,
the joys you have come to find;
it would all be projected before them
as an intimate look into your soul.

You could allow them
to see what you've seen
and to feel what you've felt-

but on a smaller scale
so it doesn't
break their heart
and destroy them
as it did to you;

Yet still,
it makes them deeply aware of
all your fears
and your dreams.

Those few seconds would be
the most intimate
dance of emotion
you'd ever share with someone,
and they'd know
exactly who you are
because of that experience.
