Sound of Silence

I conclude the final page of my novel,
my ears are blessed
with something out of this realm
sound is the absence of silence
silence is the absence of sound
yet there was emptiness.
seldom happens, my mind shows empty
at peace with this turbulent universe
my mind and body are tranquil.

Emptiness is the feeling I have too when reaching the last of the last chapter in a serial novel. When the author thoroughly presents the main characters, they become real and then they disappear off the face of the earth. Great write, Sarah. Congrats on your win.
