Words

Words are very powerful.
Words carry a lot of weight.
Words can make or break someone depending on the choices we make.
Sometimes we use them carelessly; sometimes we give our words much thought.
Sadly, words are the culprit to blame for all the wars that have been fought.
Words should never tear down or cause anyone great pain.
Words used to spread contempt or violence leads to nothing but hate and disdain.
So think before you speak. Is that too much to ask?
If everyone practiced this one simple rule, the world would have peace at last!

A kind word can mean so much, and so can those that are harsh or hateful. As a race on earth, I think we are always children, frequently not thinking enough before we speak. Due to our nature, it may indeed be too much to ask that we improve. As individuals, some of us know the truths you address, from an early age. Some do not. Ugh, kids can be so cruel, me no less than any. I used words cruelly, gratuitously, evilly. Sure wish I could go back in time and change that.
