The Girl Running

Empty chairs and empty tables
Were my friends no more??
Would this pain stop??
Don't ask me why I made this sacrifice.
Why so sudden, why now did she say she must be gone
And took away my heart as a fine souvenir
I don't understand why she got away
But take me wherever you are
Bring me home to you.

Here in my closet, I write my last confession.
Remember, the truth was once spoken by this same lips you now dread
All I wanted was to make a connection
But it seems I came in the wrong direction.
Now am all these thoughts without a pen
And I'll take credit for all that went wrong
