-raining In My Heart-

RAINING IN MY HEART It's raining heavily in my heart, Ever since we've been apart. The sun no longer shines for me, As I sit and stare at the wide open sea. The sea that separates us by so many miles The sea that once brought us so many smiles. We used to sail the high seas together... Enjoyed it both in the lightning and the thunder. We'd sail around the islands so grand, Never caring if we ever again touched land. Until that fateful day, when I looked into your eyes.. As we both said our own silent goodbyes... Ten years ago you went to your watery grave, Every ounce of strength that day I gave, I tried my best to save you from your death, Now all I have today is great regret. We should not have tempted fate that morn, We should have stayed at home and watched the storm. Today, all I hear is the thunder from within me, As I think of you lying there under the sea. I now sit all alone on the sea-shore, Not daring to venture on a boat anymore. Trying to shelter myself from my tears, As I think of all the wasted years. The years we could have still been together, If only we had been as tough as leather. Instead we both turned soft and opted to sail.. That day my entire body went pale. Now, the sun no longer shines for me, It's raining heavily in my heart, you see. 10.12.01

How very heartfelt and sad this is, Jenni! The pain of this loss weighs heavy on the heart; misgivings of a tragic situation that could have been avoided harp on the mind. Not even the beauty of this poem is enough to erase the ache...the memory! #7 Regards // paul
