Stars

It is odd to me
Algebraic almost
that I look into the heavens and see the past
What formula is there for that?

Light travels billions of years so that what I see, may no longer be.
When I gaze into the heavens to see the future I merely encounter history.

Are the past and the future so intertwined?
So combined?
How does it work for God?
Does He look at us and see the future
when we look and only see the past?

Will we ever look past the past
into the future
and not wonder Whose we are?

Will perception and truth come into focus?
A piercing Light
that leaves us blind
seeing stars
