Smiling Fears

Piling stares and smiling fears.
Husband, whenever you look at me and smile,
I see a smiling fiend, cold to the bone.
Smiling fiend, please stop smiling my way
Scrapping off my skin behind closed doors
Chipping off my sanity, hacking away pieces of my heart,
Please stop smiling at me, I am begging you.
What will it be today? A grin like, a toothy one or lopsided?
What should I do for you to stop?
I will not question, I will not fight,
I will bow, anything you want, I will do.
Please stop, I beg of you. Remember, you once loved me…
But you did not listen,
Oh smiling fiend…
I still remember your smiling face,
With disbelieving eyes, looking ashen
I hope you are smiling away beyond the grave
Smiling fiend, rest in peace.
