The End of the World

Take a minute,
Close your eyes,
Tilt your head up to the sky.
Do you feel that peace?
It's so serene.
Take a break from the world and just be free.
But soak it in
Because it won't last long.
Soon you’ll come back and the peace will be gone.
The real world is nice, but it brings on stress.
The thought of “how much will be on my next paycheck?”

In the beginning, this was not the plan.
When God made Adam and Eve out of the sand he said,
“Enjoy yourselves you can be free,
Just don't eat the fruit out of that tree”
They did for a while, then Eve ed up
So God said “let’s change it up”
You can live your lives, but with one exception,
You no longer have my protection,
Maybe you all will learn a lesson,
Now that you can feel depression.

So because Eve ed up so long ago,
I cherish the peaceful moments because you never know.
Tomorrow everything could go wrong,
Or the world could be blown up by a bomb.
Some people take their lives for granted.
Because you see, some people are like seeds that are planted
In the most expensive garden on the street.
They flaunt their privileges and are never discreet.
I wish that if you grew up with lots or grew up with none,
That the world could just unite as one
To dig through tunnels and find a lamp with wishes of three,
And to have one of those three wishes be
To go back in time and recruit
Eve to never eat that stupid fruit.
