Evil In Blame

Families of four sat depressed in two-room apartments
The sound of gunfire blasted, echoing down the streets
Barley fed anything
Food given out in rations
The innocent people blamed for poverty, illness, and a loss of a war in a foreign country

Hope was scarce
Health was impossible to find
No one in these cities were safe
No education for children
No small privileges that they once took for granted
The innocent people blamed for poverty, illness, and a loss of a war in a foreign country

But yet a heart-warming thing happened
Some regained hope
Some opened private schools for kids
Some made secret food transfers to the city
These were risky actions, and a number of people died in the process of doing them
But people had hope
With hope they believed that the Americans could defeat the soldiers and their leader
And they could enjoy their freedom once more, even if;
The innocent people blamed for poverty, illness, and a loss of a war in a foreign country
These hopeful people were Jews and this event was the Holocaust
