Finding a New Me

Once upon a time, there was a caterpillar on a tree
Sitting there wondering what his future may be.

His life seemed so very pointless
Was it serving any real purpose ?

He continued to feed for that’s all that he knew
Where was his life going, he had no clue

One day something hit him and he found acceptance
Bored and fed-up with his miserable existence.

He constructed a shell around himself,
To keep himself safe and maintain his health.

There he remained and continued to wait,
Metamorphosis took place and it changed his fate.

One day when his shell begun to feel tight
He made a small hole and in came the light

Out he came from the home that he built
Somehow feeling different, no remorse, no guilt

He spent the next night feeling like new,
Wondering what next, where to go, what to do.

On the morning of the very next day
He spread his new wings and flew away…..
