Space Traveling Gypsy

She was always looking for the light
or some shit
Just a sun ray or a beam
or a candle to be lit
The celestial lost in orbit
An eclipse, and she went with the wrong comet

even van Gogh couldn't paint her night
shooting for the rainbow,
got the meteorite.
one small step for man
giant leap for mankind
shot off into space,
but she had a change of mind
She's a heat seeking missile to take her flight
floating with the stars
but losing sight

Because the galaxy she lived had a few supernovas
~stars faded out due to addictive personas
~stars faded out, light years of parole, uh
~stars faded out, left her heart in a coma

shoulders feeling heavy
with the weight of gravity
life's getting messy
floating on absently
Before, she had the galaxy
lit up on a tapestry
pointing to the stars
and formulating strategies
she was taking rides in the Apollo program
swishing more hoops then on space jam
Making her way in the atmosphere
Commanding more stars than buzz light year
So what went wrong with the space cadet ?
As she takes a deep breath, and lights a cigarette

The galaxy she lived in had a few stars
a few supernovas left a few scars
a stellar evolution, exploitation of illusions
universal execution, eternal retribution

~her heart beats on to the phenomenon
waiting on a star she can depend on~

Constantly let down by the constellations
trying to keep her faith in the stars anticipation
So she went on
~Rays shine brighter in the darkness
Gotta keep glowing even when its starless~
Hoping that her soul is something to redeem
As she takes her daughter through this meteor stream
Because

The Galaxy she lived in had a few stars
A few supernovas left a few scars
A Magnetic cloud with a shock wave
In the stars of her daughters eyes she's still brave

Years ago you would find her up in outer space
dancing with the stars, so far, rolling face
But the stars they let her down
Put her gently on the ground
One by one they fell
showed the beast inside of belle
Down to the ground like Alice
in the midst of all the madness
an interstellar sadness
In the roots of the chaos
Spirits had a séance
Missing space, She cant follow the atlas
Feeling like shes lost, lonely pathless
There was a galactic apparatus
That gave her the Aurora Borealis?

The planet that she was banned to gave her a good girl
Who lit up her heart, became her whole world
Now she carries herself no space she's grounded
Because Endless love is what she's founded ?

Jasmine, Welcome to Poetry soup, I hope you enjoy the community. Here, you will find friendly poets who enjoy supporting one another. I myself, enjoy reading and commenting those who want to be read. The only time I give constructive criticism is when a poet desires it. However, if for some reason the poem is not my field I will guide you to someone who is more qualified than I. Stop by and read one of my poems if you like. My poems are not perfect, but I have a feeling you might like one. I encourage you to check out the contest page and read to receive comments. Tell me a little about your poetic skills if you like. It will be my pleasure to follow and read every poem you post from here on :) We are Lucky To Have you. Your New Poet Friend @-> LINDA <-@
