The Crow

The night was cold and dark and deep,
but you still stayed out alone,
watching over the sinking ship;
unmindful of the storm,
ripples formed on the water's surface,
as the ship sank underneath
ripples grew into giant waves,
devouring all that't heaves,
crushing to this lonely bay,
sweeping all the huts,
washing all humanity,
removing all its tracks,
but you stood still above the tree
unmindful of the storm,
knowing your black feathers
would shiver nevermore.

A superb piece on a crow and its observations of nature's fury and destruction. Remarkable flow, brilliant word choice, vivid images, and a great impact in the last line.
