Maybe I Still Think of You

I'm sorry that I'm not as pretty as my poetry and I'm sorry that I'm not all you want
I just want stars in my eyes and galaxies in my veins
But instead I sit here with insecurities and anxieties flowing through me
And I can't help but remember the way you gripped my hand when I shook
And all the lies you told me that I cannot forget
I remember the nights I stayed up with you
glancing at the time on my phone as your contact name was there
I wish I could shake the feeling of regret and hatred
But every time I look at you I want to scream and tremble
And sometimes I feel like my thoughts are going to eat me alive
But my god I hope you know my last thought was you and the way I let you walk all over me just so I could give you the satisfaction you wanted.
