Dark Sheets

And I opened my eyes and couldn't move,
Stuck still to the dark sheets.
My eyes, only able to look up
Not around-like my mind.
No thoughts can break through
The wall of my enemy
Who is my sadness,
My weakness, hopelessness and despair.
The energy is gone
So am I.
I'm not here in these dark sheets
Or in this empty room
That resembles my state of being, Or lack of being.
I begin to think
And all I can think is,
I am able to think and feel,
And then I regret trying.
Then I look around
And the emptiness registers.
The darkness registers.
And I wish I could go back and be stuck to these dark sheets
And this empty room.
