We Said We Would Not Do It

We said we would not do it
and now we have again
thru nasty little word bombs
bombs of hatred and of lies

Things we know will hurt the other
to watch the other fall apart
words that we do not mean
some go straight to the heart

when these words go flying
they stab through like a dagger
There is no healing that can be done
no magic word to sooth the pain

For when one’s hit with word darts
it tares them straight apart
where only scars can cover
and the lingering memory never parts

We promised not to do it
and now the darts are thrown
another piece of our relationship now changes
no remedy for it is known

but if we are strong enough
we can cover the scar with happiness
otherwise there is a way to move on past this
it’s going to take special magic

This magic is rare
not many truly know it
this magic is amazing
and can help anyone through it

The magic that I speak of
only comes in one form
you can only get it
if you look deep inside your core

This magic is like no other
than the one thing that is true
This magic is a jewel
and it comes in the form of “I love you”
