Mask -No More

The mask you wore so well
lies you spoke poured out like rain
Eyes stoned me to death
Your soul faded away like a ghost walking through walls,

I became a prisoner
Caged in shame (I didnt do anything wrong)
Walking on eggshells (I didnt get in your way)
Spoke in guilt (I didnt love anyone else)
Afraid to look you wrong (my eyes only saw you)

.....

You locked me away till you needed me but you didnt stay,
I collected dust and I became old I was no use to you for you found something new,
You made me believe it was all my fault but your eyes were always searching even though you had it all,
I spoke to others of your shame and I blamed myself.

NO MORE!

It's not my shame
I won't keep it to myself any longer
I'm free of you
So let me breathe
Let me live
If you dont like it
Then you shouldn't have left
You should of treated me better
You should of let me love you even more than I did then.

Any relationship of the heart should be an equal partnership between two people and not a subservient relationship, just my opinion. Nicely written Amanda. John

I am sure there are many who can relate to this at one time or the other in their life. Nicely expressed sadness, loss and triumph.
