Put It Down

One last word. One last comment. You tell yourself thats it.
You think you have no more fight. No one is hearing your cry. Didn't they say they'd come running when you called? You tell yourself "no one cares" If they did, wouldn't they be here? There not. & you're alone.
The person you wanted to help you, never picked up the phone, never showed up, never told you they cared.
But HE does.
He was there the whole time. Of course you didn't see him, you didn't ask for help. Oh you did? You asked your best friend? Didn't you know that wasn't who was there the whole time? The night you cried yourself to sleep, she wasn't there. But he was.
Who is he?
Look up. Do you see those clouds? The brightness coming from them? He's there. That's where he lives.
Now, put your hand over your heart. Do you feel that? He gave you that. It might be broken but it still works right? So why end it? That, has a purpose. The purpose is life.
Put down that blade, put down that gun or rope. Drop it. Put it all down. And look up. You're alone right? Wrong.
You are never alone.
That best friend you needed? That's him & he loves you.
Why end something so beautiful because of one ugly thought?
Put it down, Drop it, and look up.

This is great, Katelyn. It should be posted on all those websites promoting self-harm and suicide. A well written punch in the face to despair. Welcome to Poetry Soup. I hope you have a good time here, reading and sharing your work with us. Have fun. Viv x
