Unrelenting Shadow

You stick to the edges of my heart like the haunting shadow of memories left behind
Leaving an inky trail of darkness that swarms up to my mind
You stick to the edges of my soul, begging to be let in
Creating a sinking hole that’s concaving from within
You stick to me and I emit your darkness unto the walls so bright
You stick to me and I create your shadows that’s sucking up my light

Your shadow, it engulfs me creating a big cloud of darkness that I cannot escape
It drowns me in my fears, in my long lost mistakes
It brings out the worst in me so I can bring out the best of you
And devours my soul from the inside out; and there’s nothing I can do

You’ve become a part of me; you’re tearing me apart
You’ve promised you won’t leave my broken, poisoned heart
I am merely your puppet to do with as you please
As you invade my soul you hear my final plea

I beg of you to let me love; I beg of you to let me live
I beg of you to remove your glove, that’s given you an ice-cold grip
You are just my past begging to be let in
You are just my past that’s take all I give
Your shadow is just too much; your shadow I cannot handle
I banish you from your clutch; I banish you, my shadow
