Quick Affair

Autumn is a quick affair

A short season

Whose love is quickly abandoned

As winter descends

 

Warm nights cease to linger

Wind becomes brisk

Air becomes crisp

Daylight fades fast

 

The affair is over

Autumn, once a true love,

Left its leaves to linger

As it faded into winter
