A Tree I Wood Be

A Tree I Wood Be

I see a long lonely road,
And the silence of the slippery street surrounds me.
I’m all alone—
Just me and my withering self,
And that’s all that I've ever needed.

I am humbled,
Quiet beyond comprehension
Feeling endless down the street and out of breath—
From the cold crisp clouded creation.
It’s simplicity of Life.

Every day I watched people walk and talk
About the things that matter in life.
Their family and friends
And having heart at home,
But they never stopped to talk to me.

I grew and was taught valuable lessons on Earth
But I've always been here along the same road.
Growing up here somehow made me,
I laugh, cry and even get angry
But sometimes I can be quite the ghost.

I have many branches,
That allow me to do things you wouldn't believe.
From making music in the wind
To holding other trees branches,
But I’m here in my time of need.

I am brown with green above
But I tend to change as with the seasons bringing’s.
Sometimes my color brings out the best
And at others I made fade and wither away,
Only for a short season of cold, crisp air.

The leaves add the color to my world.
The days I am without seem colorless
While days I am with are colorful.
But my ordinary life is perfect,
With or without my leaves.

What lies at the end of the road is somewhat a fantasy.
My whole life begins and ends at its end.
Every day I wake up and start again—
And the road never changes,
I change.

My roots and foundation will always last,
They’ll show bring for all seasons to remember.
In the end I’ll leave the greatest gift of all
But that’s for you to perceive
For a tree I will be.
