Life Behind Her Smile
Her hands touch the air
Even though the sun has risen
But she keeps her head held high
And others see her true beauty
She has just enough strength
But when she’s away from the world
Her tears cover her cheeks
Because it’s the only time for her to reconnect with herself
As the sun’s ray’s shine through her fingertips
There is darkness that still fills her face
Just enough to shine brighter for others
While others view her as just another face
That makes a difference in others’ lives
She sheds her tears in silence
And she wipes them off for the next day
And puts a smile back on her face.
Her hands touch the air * As the sun’s ray’s shine through her fingertips
Even though the sun has risen * There is darkness that still fills her face
But she keeps her head held high * Just enough to shine brighter for others
And others see her true beauty * While others view her as just another face
She has just enough strength * That makes a difference in others’ lives
But when she’s away from the world * She sheds her tears in silence
Her tears cover her cheeks * And she wipes them off for the next day
Because it’s the only time for her to reconnect with herself * And puts a smile back on her face.
