The Plea My Spirit

You enter the shop, your eyes searching me
In the shelf,I try to hide
wishing that you won't see me
but your eyes light up with delight.
You spot me on the shelf.
"I'll buy this one", you say
satisfied ,you smile to yourself
but I know I'll spoil your day.

You take me to your sports car,
looking at me longingly with a smile
And I know now your death is not far.
You open my cap and take a few sips,
you feel the liquid pouring into your mouth
and I cringe when my beer touches your lips.

You smile and put me aside.
You start the car and increase the speed,
I close my eyes for I don't want this ride.
You open my cap for more you need.
You drink and drink and drink.
The car has now lost control,
and with beer you are filled to the brink.
You don't see the approaching pole.

Suddenly you swivel right,
and under the seat I dive.
I close my eyes at the crashing sight.
Alas,I have taken another life.

Two cars have crashed.
You smashed a newly wedded couple's car,
And now three lives have been mashed.
I can hear the ambulance siren in the far.
The cops find me hiding under the seat,
while the doctors declare the three dead.
People are now cursing me for my wrong deed,
saying I was the reason they were hit in the head.

I indeed am very guilty, hear my plea,
Please don't drink and drive.
If you from now listen to me,
It will spare yours and others' life.
