Last Night
I took a walk under the stars last night.
It felt strange at first because
I can’t remember the last time I really paused to notice them.
As I stared into the dark starlit sky,
my mind began to drift to a time in my life
when I thought the good times would never end.
A time when not having much meant appreciating
every insignificant moment.
As I gazed into the night,
I realized those days
are as far away as the nearest star.
