The Grey

Grey
Dark to light/ night to day/ I'm at a different time/ a different phrase/ to slow my role I paused my pace/ I lost touch stuck with no faith/ but brushed the dust of lust/ now I must regain the taste of love from above/ push to shove/ now fight/ black attacks white/ so my world swirled and became grey/ I went to a different place in my mind and used my time to waste/ but in fine chimes of my rhymes I remind/ in different ways/ I've disgraced my face/ changed the game to remain hidden from insane/ I proclaim/ but today I walk away from the grey
The black is no cat in the hat/ perhaps like a maze/ dark thoughts stalk you get crazed/ then lost like a run away slave/ get caught and the cost I pay/ I'm stuck with the same thought of how she walked away/ and now I talk different/ cause life is not sweet to me you see/ my pride pries but can't get free/ so me I cry and I can't believe/ so why try with disbelief/ so bare like a tree with leaves/ inside I strive to survive/ and I stand like a man/ that planted two feet/ but lightning struck/ I stood up to suffer defeat
People say there is a bright side that's nice/ where life don't feel like ice/ I plea I can't believe anything I haven't seen/ but they say the water is fresh and the air is pure/ inside I don't care cause I'm not sure/ then tension when they mentioned or claimed/ they can take away all I've pain/ my whole mood swayed/ confused I lose the way I chose/ there's no bright light/ I suppose I should of chose the white/ but I've never been afraid to come out at night/ I'm ready to fight/ going back to what I know and like
