A Silent Cry

Quelling a fiery rage from crying out, why?
Vice is rudely rampant, and virtue is plainly shy
Words that heed, flung so far away!
To follow those who tell the biggest lie

For shame,
When vileness sings and purity utters a cry,
When dove and branch, disallowed to fly!
When holy books, made of ink and paper,
Told to be holier than you and I!

For shame,
When all we do must be a profitable game
Where precise value, global, to an ounce of gold
Yet the human race is never valued the same
In one corner, our worth is treasure
In another, its lack we blame
Yet we’re told, we are all the same

When the word stop, declared only by few
Halt advancing many from being bold
You must quietly do what you’re told,
For here you see! We present our claim
In one corner, the few distort the masses
In another, force, is used to tame
Yet they gloat, we are all the same

For shame,
When we think we know right and wrong,
Though loudly told, they are easily sold
Yet right and wrong, at their best, lame
In one corner, right, permits to kill
In another, wrong, we exclaim…

Ideologies for control,
Our fear is to blame>
