Chores

Cleaning the house, Cleaning my room
Deciding what to use, the mop or the broom
trying to do the dishes while washing the floor
why do i have to clean and paint the door?

Oh my word!, there's so much more
Why do cleaning have to be a bore
I'm busy cleaning the lounge and the kitchen
while my siblings are siting inside eating juicy, delicious chicken

Every part of my body is getting numb
Why do chores have to be so dumb?
Cleaning the house, Cleaning my room
Deciding what to use the mop or the broom

Sounds like you've become Cinderella, Malika. Next time, hide the chicken. Fun verse. Welcome to poetry soup. You'll have fun here. Nice people. Regards, Viv

subject matter is one we all face. i like the humor in the line "Deciding what to use the mop or the broom". Can easily picture siblings eating while the poet cleans.. Good use of repetition.

Haha! What a great poem Malika! Chicken sounds way better than work, too!
