Paradise
I traveled to a place,
Much better than my own.
The sun was always shining,
I’d much rather call this home.
I’d never seen this place before,
My house must not be near.
If only I could remember,
Just how I’d gotten here.
Then I’d bring my family here,
To this wonderful place.
So I could see the excited
Look on their face.
There were children all around,
Singing a merry song.
I really couldn’t help myself,
To join and sing along.
I saw I had new clothes on,
The thread was freshly sewn.
It was my favorite color,
Like somebody had known.
I didn’t mind not knowing,
How I’d gotten here.
But I did now notice,
I had a bit of fear.
I felt like I was watched,
Like eyes fell on my face.
And I began to wonder,
What really is this place?
I found a child crying,
So I lifted his head.
I asked him what was wrong,
And he told me he was dead.
