Defeat
They say time heals all wounds
I found this to be untrue
The bruises faded
But the aching made it
Straight to my head
For you I was game
And you needed control
I stood my ground and still said no
How did I let you get too close
Just to wrap your hands around my neck
"You liked it" you said
The pills help me sleep
But I still feel defeat
And my skin crawls and aches
At the though of your teeth
When you smiled and
Laughed as you held me down
I couldn't escape you
Or this town
So I smoke away the pain
I've mastered the straight face
And I drown in my anxious thoughts
You took what you wanted
Your heart is rotted
And I was your prey of the night
It's dark and I'm
Struggling to find some light
